Brindley Beach Vacations has been charting a course for growth since the company began 5 years ago. Founders and partners Doug Brindley and Kelly and Bobby Hanig’s hard work have paid off in success and recognition: the company has landed a spot on INC Magazine’s Top 5000. They are ranked at #603 on the list which recognizes the fastest growing privately held companies in America. What is more notable is that the company, located in Corolla, NC, was ranked #1 in the travel industry.
Although Brindley Beach Vacations is a relatively new company, Doug Brindley is no stranger to the vacation rental industry. Doug began his career in rentals in 1984. The rental business was taken from a two man operation to the largest company on the Outer Banks in 2001. After several business transactions he is now the president and general manager of Brindley Beach Vacations along with partners Kelly and Bobby. In 1998, Doug Brindley was awarded the Small Business of the Year by the Outer Banks Chamber of Commerce.
Brindley Beach Vacations operates from two offices, one in Corolla and one in Duck, NC and a warehouse facility in Powells Point, NC. They have 230 homes under management for 2009 and do all this with 14 full time employees and the use of a housekeeping vendor. They are long time users and fans of PropertyPlus, for which they add, “it is the best,” and are regular attendees of RezFest. Doug, Kelly and a group of employees are almost always in attendance at industry conferences….they are the group that is always laughing and having fun while learning and networking!
As a company, Brindley Beach believes in service. In addition to the standard accounting, marketing and housekeeping, Brindley Beach has a full service maintenance service and they provide linen and towels in all vacation homes. They also own and operate a pool and spa service company with over 350 accounts.
Doug says, “Our dedication to service is unmatched. All requests for service are done the day they come in. All of our staff are excellent with people and fully capable to deal with any issue that comes to their attention. We have been in this market for 25 years and still have the business plan to service all homes, not just the big dollar homes.” Their motto is: Service First….Fun Always!
Their motto extends to their personal lives as well. Doug has a 14 month old daughter who helps keep him young and is a certified scuba diver, licensed private airplane pilot, expert surfer and snow skier. If you know Doug, you know too that he is a general all around fun guy.
