Customer Spotlight: Sterling Resorts
Sterling Resorts is one of the leading Vacation Rental Management companies in the Southeast United States. With more than 1,100 units of luxurious vacation homes in Northwest Florida and Mississippi, and a recent acquisition of Beach Rentals of South Walton adding 200 homes (operated under BRSW Vacations) to the company, Sterling Resorts is looking to grow. They continue to look for opportunities in company acquisition, as well as individual unit growth, and are looking to expand into vacation destinations outside of Florida, such as Colorado, Utah and North Carolina.
Sterling Resorts recently changed their management software to V12.NET, Instant Software’s Web-based business solution. According to Tracy Kundey, President of Sterling Resorts, “What counts in this business is renting units, and one thing that V12.NET has done to make that easy is offer one database where we can sell an individual resort or cross-sell to any one of our managed or partnered resorts."
We asked Mr. Kundey how he chose V12.NET over other software solutions. “We looked at the cost of changing with the benefits gained in the enhancements, and V12.NET had the best value for us,” he said. “What we found after the sale was Instant Software acted more like a business partner to support and enhance our uniqueness. We received input and attention from everyone at Instant Software from the CEO to the support techs, and we feel like we get specialized attention and our issues are important to Instant Software.”
Sterling Resorts went live with V12.NET in January of this year. Support and service are top priorities at Instant Software, so we asked Kundey how he rated the support he received in his conversion to V12.NET. “Individualized, untiring, and always responsive,” he replied. “This is a very supportive and knowledgeable group of individuals.”
Regarding Sterling Resort’s future with V12.NET, Mr. Kundey said, “Instant Software’s V12.NET may be new to many of us. However, when you ‘double-click,’ you will see a foundation that is rich with experience in the Vacation Rental business. Sterling is a fairly new company, formed in 2005, so our partnership with Instant Software and V12.NET brings great depth and years of experience together and allows us to focus on our business and not the software.”
Kundey continued, “Our business is taking care of the owners we represent and the guests we rent to, not worrying about systems. Instant Software is the partner that handles the software.
Given our current experience and the enhanced capabilities of the system we actually look at V12.NET giving Sterling Resorts an ROI versus just being a cost of doing business.”
