Our team provides unique technologies to our clients in the vacation rental industry by offering tools, solutions and skills, which enable them to gain a competitive advantage. This is accomplished through a professional partnership based on honesty, integrity and by putting our clients first.

Meet Our Leadership Team
Our History In the early 1990s, Dave Hopcroft, Doug Macnaught and Eddy MacNaghten founded Instant Software Limited, an England-based company that met the need for specialized industry-specific applications. Early clients included Jaguar Cars, Phillips, Polygram Records and Shell Oil. In 1994, the company was approached to create the very first Windows-based software application for the property management industry. With this product, PropertyPlus, came the launching of the U.S.-based Instant Software Incorporated.
With the product’s first installation in Orlando in 1995, the company made a strategic decision to grow by completely meeting each client’s needs before taking on additional clients. This careful approach protected Instant Software from overextension of time and resources and protected our clients from poor, inefficient service. Our strategy paid off and by April 2000, we had added our hundredth client.
In October 2001, with 185 clients on board, we increased our user base to 283 with the acquisition of Resort Manager, a system written in Unix and based in Wilmington, NC. Just 18 months later, we purchased Entech Data Systems, almost doubling our client base from 350 to 695. With the purchase of First Resort Software in December 2004, we again doubled in size, increasing the number of clients who rely on us from 835 to 1,684.
Acquisitions are only one part of Instant Software’s growth. We have launched a number of very successful initiatives to offer our clients enhanced functionality and increased sales resulting from a greater feature set. These initiatives include:
- The industry’s first online booking engine, launched through our Stay-USA subsidiary
- The industry’s first low-priced standard web-connectivity that worked with just a dial-up connection
- WebLink and OwnerLink, tools to enable smaller companies to show their availability online and take bookings in real time
- Instant Software Communications, a subsidiary formed in 2005 to help vacation rental managers control telephone usage in rental units, which features the ONLY VoIP system that does not require a broadband connection
