Travel and Lodging

RezFest 2007 will be held in Aspen, Colorado at the Aspen Meadows Resort, home of The Aspen Institute. Aspen Meadows Resort stretches along a 40 acre meadow surrounded by the Colorado Rockies. Minutes from historic, chic downtown Aspen, this facility offers a spectacular environment for the RezFest Conference. 

Airports
Aspen Airport (ASE) - This is the closest airport to fly into, there are some direct flights to Aspen but usually you will connect through Denver. From the Aspen airport it is just a short 10 minute drive or taxi to town.

Eagle/Vail Airport (EGE) - This airport is about 1 hour and 15 minutes drive to Aspen. From the airport access Interstate 70 and go west to Glenwood Springs, then go south on Highway 82 about 40 miles to Aspen.

Denver International Airport (DEN) - This airport is about a 4 hour drive to Aspen in normal weather conditions, there are two high mountain passes to cross and snow can be encountered in September. From the airport take Pena blvd. to Interstate 70 west to Glenwood Springs, then go south on Highway 82 about 40 miles to Aspen.

Automobiles
Rental car agencies available at the Aspen airport are Thrifty, Avis, Budget, Eagle, Hertz, and National rental companies. Taxi service and bus service is also available around town and at the airport. The Aspen Meadows/Aspen Institute is approximately .83 miles from the center of Aspen. Shuttle service is available from some of the properties including the Aspen Meadows.

Shuttles
The Aspen Meadows/Aspen Institute provides on demand shuttle service to and from Aspen. You can catch the shuttle at the Bandar Bin Sultan Reception area on the hour and every half hour. The shuttle will drop you off in town at either the Gondola or the Ruby Park Bus Station. The shuttle picks up every half hour at the Gondola and at Ruby Park Bus Station.

Mass Transit

The Roaring Fork Transportation Authority has buses that can get you from the Aspen Airport into downtown Aspen and throughout the area. Please check out their website for a complete schedule, maps and costs.

Weather and Clothing
Aspen weather in late September can be very unpredictable. Ideally, days will be warm and dry and the mornings can be very cool. If storms come in rain and snow can fall and temperatures can drop rapidly. Casual clothing is the theme for Aspen, layering is a good idea due to the possible change of temperature during the day. You will want to bring a jacket as the evenings will cool down.
